“Home”

Last Rick was on the last train to crazy town and everyone was letting him take the ride. This week there is even more crazy as Rick chases ghost “Laurie” outside the prison grounds.

At Woodbury the Governor hands over controls of the town to Andrea. This had me thinking “WTF?! ANDREA?!”. Still not a fan of her character however I think she’ll die soon so it’s whatever at this point.

We find brothers Dixon, Merle and Daryl, walking through the woods and you already begin to see the challenges these brothers are facing. With their time apart, they are no longer one in the same. Daryl has a heart while Merle is still maniupulative and hateful. They stumble upon a walker attack, with an innocent family which includes a baby.

While Daryl fights to save the family, Merle is eager to rob them of food once the attack is over. Finally, Daryl stands up to his brother, turning his crossbow on him allowing the family to escape and for Merle to back down. In this moment Daryl decides he must leave and get back to the group where he belongs. Finding that this is unfair Merle pouts as to get his way, which is not going to happen.

Back at the prison, Glenn and Maggie are still trying to cope and come to terms about what happened to them in Woodbury. Glenn’s anger and ego is getting the best of him, and he appoints himself the leader in Rick and Daryl’s absence. His plan of action: head back to Woodbury and kill the Governor before he can kill him. Hershel finally stands up to being reasonable again and not just standing in the shadows, convincing Glenn it’s not safe and they must leave the prison.

It’s being overrun by walkers again, probably from the mass herd, and if they want to make it out alive they need to leave. Glenn storms off and drives away leaving everyone behind.

Since he is on his “reasonble kick” Hershel makes his way down to the fence line to talk some sense into Rick. Rick admits the crazy that has been going on but expresses he needs more time. The visions of Laurie and Shane are clouding his judgement.

Then all hell breaks loose.

The Governor and his side kicks are outside the prison gates taking fire on the crew. When you think the fight is over, a cargo truck pulls up and crashes through the fence line. The Beard thinks the back will drop open with a bunch of walkers while I’m more optomositc thinking that Darly and Merle stole a truck and are here to rescue the crew.

I was wrong.

The gate drops and walkers are released into the prison grounds. Hershel is defenseless with his one leg, Rick is outside the prison gates and Michonne starts axing off heads. Glenn shows up from his mystery mission and drives over to save Hershel and deliver him safely back into the still secure fenced in area of the prison. Rick is about to become lunch for 3 walkers with Daryl and Merle show up to save his life.

I thought Daryl and Merle were in the truck, too! Do you think this episode with the Gov will make crazy assed Rick snap back into reality?

I think Rick is going to become more crazy, if that’s even possible! I think he will die but I know they couldn’t ever kill of Rick. But with him frolicing in the fields, he deserves to die.
